Do you sell plus size clothing?
As of Fall 2022, we've increased our sizes to be up to 3X for all new inventory, with some designs up to 4X. We're currently working on patterning expanded sizes for all designs, and our goal is to see sizes up to 5X by Fall 2023. Inclusive sizing is a huge priority for us, so if you see something you like that isn't in your size yet, reach out to us to learn more about when it might become available!
Do you sell men's clothing?
Our clothing is designed for women's sizing, but all clothing can be worn by all genders. We have many masculine presenting customers that love and wear our designs. Currently, there aren't any plans to include a men's sized collection, but it is something we are considering.
Where are your products made?
Our clothing is designed in the US by the owner, Victoria, and then made by our team of pattern makers and manufacturers in Nepal. We've worked closely with them for years through our sister brand Verillas, and take care to ensure the ethical production of our products, which is why we fly from the US to visit them and the factories in person. We also source a select few items from independent artists/crafters, such as our mushroom earrings - which are handmade in Scotland.
How do I take care of my Dark Cottage clothing?
The best way to care for any clothing is to hand wash in cold water and hang dry. However, we've tested all of our items to be sure they can handle machine washing and drying. If this is what you choose, we recommend washing in cold water on delicate with similar items, and drying on low heat. Some fabrics, such as cotton, may be susceptible to mild shrinkage.
When will I receive my custom order/pre-order items?
You can expect to receive most custom orders/pre-orders within 90 days. Due to COVID-19, sometimes delivery times can be unpredictable, but we're doing the best we can!

Can I change my order?
If we have not already shipped out your order, sure! E-mail us with your order number and what it is you would like to change.
How do I cancel my order?
We are able to cancel your order if you e-mail us before we ship out your items. If we have already shipped them, you will have to wait for the items to arrive, and then you may return them.
How do I return an item?
E-mail us at email@example.com and we will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label. Then, simply fill out the return card included in your package and send it back to us.
Do you ship worldwide?
Anywhere in the world that USPS and UPS can ship to, we can ship to.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are packed and shipped within 5 business days. Once shipped, it typically takes 2-5 business days to arrive anywhere in the US. International shipments may take two weeks or longer.
How much does shipping cost?
For US orders (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) shipping is a flat rate of $8, or FREE for orders over $100. We also offer 2-Day Shipping to continental US states for $25. International shipping is calculated based on weight and location, and international customers are responsible for any customs/import fees that may incur.
Do you do payment plans?
Not at this time.
Do you sell gift cards?
We do! Scroll to the bottom of the page and underneath "Categories" you'll see "Gift Certificates". This is e-mailed directly to the recipient. Currently, we do not have an option for physical gift cards.
