You may return most new, unworn items within 30 days of delivery for store credit. Items marked Clearance, Final Sale, and Goblin's Hoard are not eligible for return.
How to Return:
U.S. Customers can use our self-service return portal or contact us by email (info@darkcottage.com) with your order number and details of your return, and we can provide you with a return label.

Simply repackage your item and fill out the return card included with your order.
- If you did not receive a return card, please double check that your item is not marked Final Sale or listed in Clearance or Goblin's Hoard categories (making the item ineligible for return).
- If your item is eligible for return but you're missing the return card, any scrap piece of paper will work! Please write instructions for your exchange/return and include it with your return package.
Condition of Returns:
Items should be returned in new condition - unworn and unwashed with product tags attached.
Items may be tried on indoors and still be eligible for return, but once they have been worn outdoors they are not eligible for return.
Any item returned with damages including (but not limited to): dirt, bad or strong odor (such as perfume or smoke), stains, pet hair, and/or wear and tear will not be eligible for return.
Items marked Clearance, Final Sale, and Goblin's Hoard are not eligible for return.
If you return an item that is not eligible for return, we will ship the item back to you and send an invoice for the return shipping cost. If you're not sure if your item is eligible for return, please email us at info@darkcottage.com with photos and a description of the item's condition.
We reserve the rights to refuse a refund, credit, or exchange for items that are not in a re-sellable condition - regardless of whether the item was worn or not.
Exchange Reservations
If you would like to make an exchange, reach out to us at info@darkcottage.com and we will place a hold on your requested item for 7 days. If your return package hasn't shipped within 7 days the hold will be released and the item will be placed back in our inventory. You may still return/exchange your item, but we cannot guarantee your requested item will be available.
Returns & Exchanges Shipping Cost:
Exchanges: The first exchange is free for U.S. customers!
- For any following exchanges from the same order, the customer is liable for the return and outbound shipping costs. This amount will be invoiced to the customer. If the shipping cost is left unpaid for 14 days your exchange will be cancelled.
Returns: Customers are liable for the return shipping cost. The return shipping cost will be deducted from your store credit or refund.
Return shipping costs will be calculated by our shipping software using the most cost effective service (typically USPS Ground Advantage).
Store Credit / Refunds:
Store credit is the default refund method for returns. If no instructions are included in your package or email, we will apply store credit to your account and notify you via email. If you do not already have an account on our site, one will be made for you so that you may access your store credit. The return shipping cost will be deducted from your store credit.
Refunds to your original payment method are accepted by request after we have confirmed your return is eligible for return and in new, re-sellable condition. Shipping costs are non-refundable - this is the cost of shipping from us to you. The return shipping cost will be deducted from your refund.
We're a small team of two, so please allow up to 5-10 business days for us to process your return/refund once it's delivered to our warehouse. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
International Returns & Exchanges
International customers (outside of the 50 U.S. States) are responsible for return shipping and any associated costs (duties, customs, tax, etc). If you need assistance or guidance with your international return or exchange, we'll be happy to help over email - info@darkcottage.com
Incorrect or Faulty Item
We're only human, and occasionally mistakes are made. In the rare event that we shipped the wrong item or a defective product, please reach out to us by email (info@darkcottage.com) so we can make it right!
